So this year I got my dates wrong. For some reason I had it stuck in my head that Saturday was December 1. Phill was wondering why I wanted him to get the tree down early, but he didn’t mention it.
As we drove home from Christmas shopping I heard an add for uni admissions closing 30 November. As I commented about it being out of date, Phill told me I was wrong. I checked my phone and sure enough I was a day ahead.
So having told Emily and Edward we just had to go on with the show, and when Steve came over we put up the tree.
December 1
We decided to take our family photo for our Christmas cards since we were ready for Church early (when does that happen?!)
We finally headed back to church (I hadn’t been for a month due to Edward and Emily’s illnesses) and I was happy to see the new bright colours for this year’s Christmas celebrations.
We sat outside in the cool breeze for our ‘first taste of summer’ barbeque.
Phill headed off to pick up a new pram (a super bargain, thanks to ebay)

And headed out for a walk.
We ended the evening opening the Advent calendar, singing Silent Night and dancing to the music. Phill told Edward they need to dance when they hear the music from the Nativity scene, but it turns out that was a little too exciting. Maybe we’ll start singing carols next year!
Edward was teething, but we still managed to catch up on our washing and ironing (very quietly and without our usual Sunday night TV catchup).
Traditions:
Singing: Silent night
Decorating: The wooden music box tree
Eating: Outside
