I run in person scrapbooking classes in Perth, Western Australia and am currently accepting applications for monthly Class Sponsors slots for 2011 and 2012.
I have some sponsor spots available for the October 2011- February 2012 Digital Scrapbooking Workshops
Sponsors provide digital supplies which I use in my classes and are given as take home goodies for the participants.
I usually ask for a kit (with alpha) and perhaps a couple of other ‘odds and ends’ such as brushes, templates, quick pages, word art or whatever your specialty is. The kit can either be specially made for the class, or one from your existing shop.
I use the supplies for demonstration purposes and give a copy of the supplies on the workshop DVD. I give you full credit and would link them up to your store on the DVD. The DVD is used for up to 3 sessions of the workshop.
I also record follow up tips (via screencasting) for my website. With credit at the during the video and a link to the product in the post with the video.
As a sponsor you will be featured on the site through a banner ad – 300 x 250 and links in the event information for the months you are sponsoring.
I usually run the workshop this way:
- Show and tell slideshow of various styles – hand around photobooks and printed layouts.
- Create a page using a template provided by our template sponsors
- Help and answer questions as needed.
Here’s some information about my basic class from my website http://mshanhun.com/category/perth/
In case you would like some inspiration:
Green and blue seem to be popular with a bit of yellow or pink to allow for those wanting a girly touch.
Here’s some colour schemes from Kuler I think could work:

- http://kuler.adobe.com/#themeID/1298376
Here’s a list of what my beginners enjoy using:
- Photo frames
- Stitched border
- Buttons
- Journalling notecard – helps them fit journalling into the design
Layered embellishment such as a bigger flower, or something chunky looking – I use this to demonstrate how adding a bigger shadow looks more realistic for these objects.
I hope this is helpful – but feel free to do whatever inspires you1
In exchange for sharing your talents with Perth scrapbookers, you’ll receive advertising space and exposure to a new audience of beginning digital scrapbookers.
